Sweet and Spicy Cauliflower Tacos with Red Cabbage Slaw

Sweet and Spicy Cauliflower Tacos with Red Cabbage Slaw

A little while back I was browsing instagram, as one does, when I came across an instagram story from Tara O’Brady, the author of the Seven Spoons blog and cookbook. The story was a very loose recipe for roasted cauliflower with honey, hot sauce and nutritional yeast.

Today was my official last day as a ski instructor. It was a perfect last day too. The sun was shining, conditions were great and it wasn’t cold at all. This was my fifteenth  season on snow, my seventh on staff and my fifth as a

Rustic Leek and Potato Soup

Rustic Leek and Potato Soup

Funny story, a few weeks ago (Maybe a few months ago?) I needed a few potatoes for a recipe and my mom picked up a gargantuan bag of russet potatoes. Well, I still have about three quarters of the bag in my pantry… Being more of a sweet potato kind of girl, I’m not really one to just bake a plain potato and eat it, so I had to think of a more interesting way to use those bad boys up. Winter Vegetable Dahl

Winter Vegetable Dahl

As the holiday season winds down, it seems as though cold and flu season is just starting to rev up, for me anyway. I’ve ben waking up to itchy ears, a stuffy nose and a nasty sinus headache. For the last two weeks I’ve been

Pick-Me-Up Green Smoothie

Pick-Me-Up Green Smoothie

During this time of the year I think we all could use a bit of a pick-me-up, right? I’m usually pretty tired when I get home from work, but the fact that it starts to get dark at around 4:30 is definitely not helping to

Socca with Grilled Roots and Golden Hummus

Socca with Grilled Roots and Golden Hummus

As November sets in I have found myself in need of a good pick me up. It seems as though we completely skipped nice fall weather and went straight into the crappyness of November. There are some things that just put me in a really fantastic mood. Making a perfect batch of hummus is one of those things. You may think that that makes me very lame, but my argument is that you have to enjoy the little things in life

Sweet Potato Toast Two Ways

Sweet Potato Toast Two Ways

Last night was wild! It was my senior prom and, well, it definitely din’t disappoint. After a long night of dancing, talking and just straight up fun it’s always nice to wake up and cook up a big feel good style breakfast. (Think eggs, hash

Morning Toast Three Ways

Morning Toast Three Ways

Sometimes I find that it’s best to keep things simple. I’m a big time planner when it comes to food; I always try to plan out each meal ahead of time to make my life a little easier. Most of my Sunday mornings are spent at the kitchen table flipping through cookbook after cookbook to decide what I want to have on hand and eat over the course of the upcoming week. Based off of my decisions, I compile a list of ingredients to stock up on. In my mind this is a wonderful system, but my family seems to find it bizarre and unrealistic (I beg to differ). Meal planning is a great way to reduce food waste and to prevent that dreadful moment where you open your empty fridge with a rumbling stomach and a lack of ideas. DIY Nut Butter

DIY Nut Butter

If you know me, you know I have an array of odd food obsessions. Hummus, anything with sweet potatoes, sushi, watermelon, just to name a few. I also adore nut butter, especially almond based nut butters (I’m not a fan of peanut butter). Honestly, I
