Vegetarian “Sausage” & Noodle Soup

Vegetarian “Sausage” & Noodle Soup

I don’t know what it’s like where you all are, but it has been absolutely freezing here in Ontario the past few weeks. At this point in the season I seem to have a semi-permanent raspy voice from running outdoors in these crazy cold temperatures.

Hot Chocolate Cookies

Hot Chocolate Cookies

This past weekend was my annual holiday baking weekend. This year I baked six different types of cookies to share and enjoy over the holidays. I stuck with my annual go-to’s for five of the cookies and decided to try something new for the last

Easy Shakshouka

Easy Shakshouka

I cooked up some deliciously easy Shakshouka on my Instagram stories the other day and saved the recipe to my highlights, but I thought I would write it up and share the recipe here too for anyone who does not have Instagram. Continue reading Easy Shakshouka

Grilled Summer Salad

Grilled Summer Salad

Can we just take a minute to acknowledge how quickly this summer has flown by? How is it already August?! Crazy stuff! I’ve been trying to soak up the delicious flavours of summer before fall strikes and I have to wait another full year to

Creamy White Bean Soup

Creamy White Bean Soup

So, I have a kinda funny story for you all. Well, my life is all kind of a funny story, but this situation really takes the cake. Leading up to Christmas holidays I was experiencing discomfort in my lower jaw near the back of my

Warming Veggie Noddle Soup

Well, it’s finally starting to feel like fall and I don’t just mean because of the weather. At this point every one of my roommates (including myself) has been sick, midterms are getting ready to kick my ass and it gets dark before 8pm. Continue reading Warming Veggie Noddle Soup

Nine Days in Paris

Roasted Squash Noodle Bowls with Miso-tahini Sauce

Today was my official last day as a ski instructor. It was a perfect last day too. The sun was shining, conditions were great and it wasn’t cold at all. This was my fifteenth  season on snow, my seventh on staff and my fifth as a ski instructor. I started volunteering with the ski school when I was twelve and I did that for a couple years. When I turned fourteen I was offered a job as an assistant, and when I turned fifteen I took my level one and became a CSIA certified ski instructor. Between Christmas camps, New Years camps, the year 9 week program and March break camps, I’ve taught a lot of kids over the year. It’s definitely been a challenging job because let’s face it, little kids are exhausting and I almost always have ages 3-5. Needless to say, my back is very sore and my patience is not what it was 9 weeks ago, but I did have fun. As much as I complain about teaching, I did enjoy it. Rustic Leek and Potato Soup

Rustic Leek and Potato Soup

Funny story, a few weeks ago (Maybe a few months ago?) I needed a few potatoes for a recipe and my mom picked up a gargantuan bag of russet potatoes. Well, I still have about three quarters of the bag in my pantry… Being more
