Hot Chocolate Cookies

Hot Chocolate Cookies

This past weekend was my annual holiday baking weekend. This year I baked six different types of cookies to share and enjoy over the holidays. I stuck with my annual go-to’s for five of the cookies and decided to try something new for the last

Creamy White Bean Soup

Creamy White Bean Soup

So, I have a kinda funny story for you all. Well, my life is all kind of a funny story, but this situation really takes the cake. Leading up to Christmas holidays I was experiencing discomfort in my lower jaw near the back of my

Cozy Oatmeal + Cranberry Cookies

Cozy Oatmeal + Cranberry Cookies

With my personal week from hell now officially behind me, I am in a rather celebratory mood and what better way to celebrate than with cookies? For all those who are unaware, last week I had four midterms, which was already bad enough, but I also didn’t have any time to grocery shop because I was too busy studying for said midterms, I almost got hit by a car, and I basically just didn’t sleep. Sunday night after walking out of the last of my midterms I was an absolute dead woman. By the time that I got home I was so tired that I fell asleep with all my lights on while waiting for my laundry to be done. I can honestly say it was the worst week ever. But now it’s behind me and I have time to cook and enjoy my life again (yay!). Continue reading Cozy Oatmeal + Cranberry Cookies

End of Summer Pesto Pasta

End of Summer Pesto Pasta

This has been my go-to meal all summer and continues to be now. Before I left for school I made a huge batch of pesto and froze it to enjoy throughout my fall semester. This recipe is super easy and tasty. I may be a

Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Loaf

Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Loaf

This Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Loaf highlights what is – in my opinion – the queen of summer produce: Ontario strawberries. Strawberry picking has become an annual tradition for me. I love being able to take advantage of the fantastic summer produce that is grown within

Salted Caramel Dream Bars

Salted Caramel Dream Bars

A few months back I was at Shoppers Drug Mart with some friends and made the happy discovery that my all-time favourite dark chocolate was on sale. Usually I can deter myself from buying chocolate simply because it is so damn expensive, but it was significantly harder to resist when it was only $5 for two whole bars! Needless to say, I bought two bars. I was able to hold off eating this glorious chocolate and instead used it to create something even more decadent, the stuff of dreams, I would say. Buffalo Cauliflower Salad + Vegan Cool Lime Ranch Dressing

Buffalo Cauliflower Salad + Vegan Cool Lime Ranch Dressing

At the moment I have a little  bit of time off before I start work for the summer. That means that I have time to create some fun new recipes and other posts to share here! Yay! I spent my evening last night scrolling through

On-the-Go Greens Scramble

On-the-Go Greens Scramble

Now a days it’s all about ease and convenience. I can definitely relate. This semester has been a total whirlwind of assignments, midterms, exams, and a little bit of fun too, making it difficult to find spare time to do anything for myself. One commitment

Chocolate Swirl Banana Bread

Chocolate Swirl Banana Bread

I came up with this Chocolate Swirl Banana Bread quite some time ago, but I wanted to save it for the perfect occasion. Now that we’re well into November, I think it is fair to say that we could all use a little bit of cheering up, right? I know I could! November is my least favourite month of the year by far (April being the second worst). I hate how early it gets dark and the weather is atrocious. It’s not quite winter yet, but it also isn’t really fall anymore; it’s just a gross transition between the seasons. So that’s my rant about November. Gross times of the year such as this make for a perfect opportunity to curl up with a hot cup of tea and a slice of warm, homemade banana bread.

Grilled Za’atar Flatbread with Garlic Infused Olive Oil and Smoky Eggplant Puree

Grilled Za’atar Flatbread with Garlic Infused Olive Oil and Smoky Eggplant Puree

Not gonna lie, this was a really fun recipe to create. I got to combine three of my fav things: bread, grilled food, and za’atar spice blend! Woo! I’ve made this recipe before using spelt flour (which worked great), but I wanted to try to
