Ode to Summer + Chocolate for Breakfast

Ode to Summer + Chocolate for Breakfast

It seems as though fall is finally arriving. With the last few days reaching above twenty degrees (Celsius that is) it has been an unusually hot October. Now that it actually feels like autumn, I think it’s best to say a formal “goodbye” to summer.

Golden Turmeric Latté

Golden Turmeric Latté

It’s no secret that this summer hasn’t been very “summery”. Sure, we got spoiled with some spectacular 30 degree dock days, but those were usually incompassed by about 7 straight days of rain. Needless to say the wearer has been less than ideal and I

Perfect Roasted Garlic Hummus

Perfect Roasted Garlic Hummus

There are some things that just put me in a really fantastic mood. Making a perfect batch of hummus is one of those things. You may think that that makes me very lame, but my argument is that you have to enjoy the little things in life and celebrate small victories, you feel? Easy Coconut Chia Pudding

Easy Coconut Chia Pudding

I am forever a fan of simple things. Honestly, the simpler the better. This past week I’ve been looking after my aunt’s dogs and living in her house while she’s on vacation with her family and it’s been a blast. There is something very strange

Raw Chocolate Energy Bites

Raw Chocolate Energy Bites

In the days leading up to my school trip to Boston I was baking up a storm. As you can probably imagine the food on school trips is a far stretch from gourmet, but for people with intolerances and specific diets, such as I, the

Morning Toast Three Ways

Morning Toast Three Ways

Sometimes I find that it’s best to keep things simple. I’m a big time planner when it comes to food; I always try to plan out each meal ahead of time to make my life a little easier. Quick Brussels Sprout Slaw

Quick Brussels Sprout Slaw

There’s nothing I love more than a good brussels sprout recipe. Seriously though, brussels sprouts are so versatile; you can use them in salads and pastas, you can oats them, shred them, boil them. The possibilities are endless!

Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread

Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread

After months upon months of stress an, seemingly, never ending work, I am finally free. Last Monday I went for my final university interview and am so relived! Being a senior in high school is hard enough, but when you add in extracurricular activities, work

Buckwheat Banana Pancakes

Buckwheat Banana Pancakes

These last few weeks have been a complete and total whirlwind! With two portfolios due, a mass of school assignments, extracurricular activities and a vacation thrown right in the middle, I’ve had almost no time to myself. Fortunately, it’s starting to wind down (thank God!).  Continue reading Buckwheat Banana Pancakes

Ginger Molasses Loaf

Ginger Molasses Loaf

I am a huge fan of molasses. One of my favourite things at christmas time is baking (and eating!) chewy, delicious, homemade ginger molasses cookies. They produce the most wonderful scent when they’re baking, it just smells like christmas. This holiday season I
