A Friendsgiving Road Trip in Newfoundland

A Friendsgiving Road Trip in Newfoundland

This was my second Thanksgiving weekend spent away from home with friends. If you have been following along with my adventures for a while then you may recall that I spent Thanksgiving weekend on Vancouver Island with my friend Ali back in 2021. We were

How to Spend Three Days in New York City

How to Spend Three Days in New York City

I’m lucky enough to have been to New York City on a couple of different occasions prior to this trip. My first experience with the city was when I turned 13 years old. At the time, we had extended family living in the city. For my 13th birthday, my mom and I spent a long weekend in New York and stayed with our relatives. My second experience with the city was three years later when I travelled to New York with my high school orchestra. These were two very different trips that allowed me to see different parts of the city and experience it in two different ways: with family and then with friends and peers. Barcelona on a Budget: A Three-Day Itinerary

Our adventure in Spain really began in Nice, France. If you have been following along with my previous posts, you will know that Barcelona was the third major stop on our tour through Southern Europe in fall 2022. First came a nine-day tour of Italy

Touring the Best of the French Riviera in Three Days

Touring the Best of the French Riviera in Three Days

After our tour through Italy (read about that here), Alyssa and I spent a lovely three (and a half if we’re counting travel) days in the South of France along the French Riviera. I have previously travelled to Paris (read about my nine days in Paris here), but had not explored the country beyond that. It’s almost hard to believe that the South of France and Paris are in the same country. The climate, foliage, architecture, and even the culture are, in my opinion, drastically different, making the two hard to compare. I personally loved the South of France and would go back in a heartbeat. In this post I have outlined what we did, where we stayed, and what we ate during our three days in the South of France. I hope you all enjoy! Continue reading Touring the Best of the French Riviera in Three Days

Nine Days in Italy: An Itinerary

Nine Days in Italy: An Itinerary

In early September I set off on a three-week trip around various parts of southern Europe with my roommate Alyssa. Our adventure began with nine fantastic days touring around Italy. We started in Venice, then hit Rome, travelled to Naples and explored the Amalfi Coats

This past December I visited my extended family on the West Coast in California. During my time in the LA area I was lucky enough to get to spend a few days at the family cottage on Green Valley Lake at an elevation of 7,000

A (Self-Proclaimed) Local’s Guide to Vancouver

A (Self-Proclaimed) Local’s Guide to Vancouver

This fall I had the unique opportunity to up and move out west to Vancouver for two months with one of my close friends. We both accepted co-op positions at a Vancouver-based company and decided to use our new jobs as an opportunity to travel to and live in a new city. Neither Ali nor I had ever been to the West Coast before this adventure. We received an influx of recommendations from friends and family who had either been out west before or who currently live there, and their recommendations sure didn’t disappoint! I am happy to report that we diligently worked our way through the list and ticked off the majority of the boxes. We also found some cool spots of our own along the way. Here is a summary of the top recommendations that we received and some of our favourite places we discovered along the way. I hope you enjoy! Thanksgiving Weekend on Vancouver Island

Thanksgiving Weekend on Vancouver Island

In my most recent co-op recruiting period I got hired by a Vancouver-based company to complete my third, and final, co-op term of my undergraduate degree. There was an option to work fully remotely from Ontario, or to move out west for a more hybrid
