Spring Pea Risotto

Spring Pea Risotto

It’s finally starting to feel like spring and I’m celebrating with this Spring Pea Risotto recipe. To me, peas are a quintessential spring food item. What better way to celebrate them than making them the star of a delicious Spring Pea Risotto?

Grilled Summer Salad

Grilled Summer Salad

Can we just take a minute to acknowledge how quickly this summer has flown by? How is it already August?! Crazy stuff! I’ve been trying to soak up the delicious flavours of summer before fall strikes and I have to wait another full year to

Big Cozy Vibes Tahini Granola

Big Cozy Vibes Tahini Granola

As we push through (hopefully) the last of these chilly early-spring days, which are very reminiscent of winter, I’m finding myself really enjoying the simple comforts of curling up with a mug of tea, a good book, and my favourite granola. If I had to pick one recipe that I make consistently, this would be it. To say that this is a pantry staple for me would be an understatement. Continue reading Big Cozy Vibes Tahini Granola

DIY At Home Shawarma (aka Fake Lazeez)

DIY At Home Shawarma (aka Fake Lazeez)

When I’m at school I love to get Shawarma from a chain called Lazeez. I discovered this glorious chain (which is conveniently located around the corner from my home!) last year and it’s been an epic love affair ever since.

Fragrant Brown Lentil Dahl

Fragrant Brown Lentil Dahl

Hello all! Disclaimer: I am fully aware that June is in full swing and that the weather is, on average, quite consistently hot at this point and this recipe may seem to be better suited for colder temperatures, but I’m here to tell ya that

Cozy Oatmeal + Cranberry Cookies

Cozy Oatmeal + Cranberry Cookies

With my personal week from hell now officially behind me, I am in a rather celebratory mood and what better way to celebrate than with cookies? For all those who are unaware, last week I had four midterms, which was already bad enough, but I also didn’t have any time to grocery shop because I was too busy studying for said midterms, I almost got hit by a car, and I basically just didn’t sleep. Sunday night after walking out of the last of my midterms I was an absolute dead woman. By the time that I got home I was so tired that I fell asleep with all my lights on while waiting for my laundry to be done. I can honestly say it was the worst week ever. But now it’s behind me and I have time to cook and enjoy my life again (yay!). Continue reading Cozy Oatmeal + Cranberry Cookies

Warming Veggie Noddle Soup

Warming Veggie Noddle Soup

Well, it’s finally starting to feel like fall and I don’t just mean because of the weather. At this point every one of my roommates (including myself) has been sick, midterms are getting ready to kick my ass and it gets dark before 8pm.

Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Loaf

Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Loaf

This Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Loaf highlights what is – in my opinion – the queen of summer produce: Ontario strawberries. Strawberry picking has become an annual tradition for me. I love being able to take advantage of the fantastic summer produce that is grown within

Buffalo Cauliflower Salad + Vegan Cool Lime Ranch Dressing

Buffalo Cauliflower Salad + Vegan Cool Lime Ranch Dressing

At the moment I have a little  bit of time off before I start work for the summer. That means that I have time to create some fun new recipes and other posts to share here! Yay! I spent my evening last night scrolling through Pinterest, as one does, and found lots of wonderful inspiration. I also have a ridiculously long list of recipes I want to create or recreate taking up a significant portion of my journal. While I was on my little Pinterest binger I pinned a ton of recipes by one of my favourite food writers, Laura Wright, of The First Mess. She had some pretty epic recipes focused around cauliflower, which is what inspired me to create this. Continue reading Buffalo Cauliflower Salad + Vegan Cool Lime Ranch Dressing

Sushi “Burritos” with Kimchi

Sushi “Burritos” with Kimchi

Whenever I get together with my two good friends Riley and Camryn we always make sushi. See the thing is, as a group we are quite difficult to feed. Riley is a pescatarian, Camryn is allergic to dairy, but eats meat and I don’t eat meat and
