Roasted Red Pepper + Cauliflower Soup

Happy Saturday! It’s finally starting to feel like winter around here after weeks of unseasonably mild weather. With the temperatures dropping deep into the negatives, I’m inclined to lean towards more warming and hardy foods. Enter Roasted Red Pepper + Cauliflower Soup!

Although I love summer, the transition towards more autumnal temperatures and the first colours of fall have been refreshing. Fall is a season of many things: pumpkin spices lattes, apple desserts, and the official start of soup season – my favourite!

Back in December I went to the One of a Kind Show in Toronto to get a bit of holiday shopping out of the way. For those of you that are not familiar, the One of a Kind Show is a large multi-day convention of Canadian vendors that is open to the public to attend (for an entrance fee). The vendors’ products range from food, to art, to ceramics, to clothing or accessories. It’s a super fun way to spend a weekend day, which is exactly what we did. While we were there, I stumbled upon a business called Allo Simonne that sells a variety of different hazelnut butter spreads. I sampled a few of them and ended up walking away with the Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Spread with Toasted Buckwheat. It sounds like a bit of a weird combination, but oh my goodness was it ever good! It’s no secret that I love chocolate. I have never been huge on candy, but chocolate is something that I always keep on hand. I especially love dark chocolate. If we’re getting specific, I love the Lindt Excellence Ecuador 75% Cacao chocolate the most. I

I make this hot chocolate recipe all year around, but it is especially nice to enjoy whilst curled up by the fire watching snowflakes flutter down outside your window or while staying indoors to avoid the frigid wind chills like I am currently doing. Vegetarian “Sausage” & Noodle Soup

Vegetarian “Sausage” & Noodle Soup

I don’t know what it’s like where you all are, but it has been absolutely freezing here in Ontario the past few weeks. At this point in the season I seem to have a semi-permanent raspy voice from running outdoors in these crazy cold temperatures.

Easy Shakshouka

Easy Shakshouka

I cooked up some deliciously easy Shakshouka on my Instagram stories the other day and saved the recipe to my highlights, but I thought I would write it up and share the recipe here too for anyone who does not have Instagram.

Grilled Summer Salad

Grilled Summer Salad

Can we just take a minute to acknowledge how quickly this summer has flown by? How is it already August?! Crazy stuff! I’ve been trying to soak up the delicious flavours of summer before fall strikes and I have to wait another full year to enjoy delicious Ontario-grown produce. Continue reading Grilled Summer Salad

Big Cozy Vibes Tahini Granola

Big Cozy Vibes Tahini Granola

As we push through (hopefully) the last of these chilly early-spring days, which are very reminiscent of winter, I’m finding myself really enjoying the simple comforts of curling up with a mug of tea, a good book, and my favourite granola. If I had to
