A Stopover in York, England

A Stopover in York, England

Welcome back 🙂 Here is part two of my United Kingdom adventure! If you remember any of my little trip outline from the beginning of my Edinburgh post (it’s ok if you don’t) you’ll recall that we did a one night stopover in the charming

My Edinburgh Adventure

Two weeks ago I landed back at Toronto Pearson International Airport after being on the other side of the Atlantic for twenty six days. When my sister made the decision to do a six month exchange in Scotland , I started to make my travel

Sushi “Burritos” with Kimchi

Sushi “Burritos” with Kimchi

Whenever I get together with my two good friends Riley and Camryn we always make sushi. See the thing is, as a group we are quite difficult to feed. Riley is a pescatarian, Camryn is allergic to dairy, but eats meat and I don’t eat meat and can’t have dairy or wheat… so sushi has always been a great option for us when we want to eat together.  Continue reading Sushi “Burritos” with Kimchi

Super-seeded Hemp Heart Granola

Super-seeded Hemp Heart Granola

Back in the summer I did a bit of housesitting for my aunt while she was away on holiday with her family. I was in charge of looking after the house and her two dogs: Charlie, a Rhodesian Ridgeback and Tucker, a Corgi. For the

Roasted Beet and Barley Salad with Pesto

Roasted Beet and Barley Salad with Pesto

Happy Easter weekend friends! When holiday feasting time rolls around the vegetarian options can sometimes be a bit lacking (think Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter). Since I don’t eat turkey or ham and my family isn’t exactly too keen on testing out a nut roast recipe, although

Sweet and Spicy Cauliflower Tacos with Red Cabbage Slaw

A little while back I was browsing instagram, as one does, when I came across an instagram story from Tara O’Brady, the author of the Seven Spoons blog and cookbook. The story was a very loose recipe for roasted cauliflower with honey, hot sauce and nutritional yeast. As soon as I saw it I was sure to screenshot so that I could try this combo later. Since that first time I’ve fooled around with the quantities of the ingredients to get, in my opinion, the perfect sweet, spicy and salty flavour combo. Vegan Banana Chocolate Chunk Muffins

Vegan Banana Chocolate Chunk Muffins

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but I work at a bakery, which is pretty ironic considering that I can’t eat 99% of the product that we sell. Lucky for me we do have delicious gluten free and vegan muffins (yay!). Honest to

A Tasty Afternoon in Kensington Market, Toronto

A Tasty Afternoon in Kensington Market, Toronto

I moved away from the city almost ten years ago, so I don’t know it as well as some, but there are certain areas of the city that I love to visit whenever I am in town. Kensington Market is one of those areas.

Big, Bright Layered Beet Smoothie Jars

Big, Bright Layered Beet Smoothie Jars

With Easter coming up and spring just around the corner I thought it would be fun to share a more vibrant recipe to help me get over my serious case of the winter blues. Lately I’ve been really into making myself big smoothies for breakfast, which I enjoy on my couch, under a nice fuzzy blanket in the earl hours of the morning. This big bright beet smoothie has been my goto recently. The sweetness from the banana and berries mashed with the earthy undertones of the beets makes for a unique and fun flavour. This mixture helps me get out of bed in the morning haha. Continue reading Big, Bright Layered Beet Smoothie Jars

Roasted Squash Noodle Bowls with Miso-tahini Sauce

Today was my official last day as a ski instructor. It was a perfect last day too. The sun was shining, conditions were great and it wasn’t cold at all. This was my fifteenth  season on snow, my seventh on staff and my fifth as a
