Strawberry Chia Jam with a Twist

Strawberry Chia Jam with a Twist

A few weeks before summer officially began, I sat down and wrote a bucket list of all the things that I wanted to (try to) do before September rolled around. One of the items on the list was berry picking. I have a couple of

Grilled Za’atar Flatbread with Garlic Infused Olive Oil and Smoky Eggplant Puree

Grilled Za’atar Flatbread with Garlic Infused Olive Oil and Smoky Eggplant Puree

Not gonna lie, this was a really fun recipe to create. I got to combine three of my fav things: bread, grilled food, and za’atar spice blend! Woo! I’ve made this recipe before using spelt flour (which worked great), but I wanted to try to

Chocolate Crispy Treats

Chocolate Crispy Treats

I have very fond childhood memories of my older sister, Emma, whipping up a batch of rice crispy squares after school, which we would then devour whilst watching The Ellen Show. Oh, to be 9 years old again.. But seriously, rice crispy squares are a classic treat. Continue reading Chocolate Crispy Treats

Four Easy + Refreshing Juices

Four Easy + Refreshing Juices

‘Tis the season, for cold juices that is. With the past few days climbing up to the high twenties I’ve been a big fan of pressed juices. Buying fresh juice can be pretty pricey, which I find to be strange considering how, relatively, inexpensive it

A Week in London

A Week in London

I’ve been under a lot of pressure to get this post up, so here goes! Shoutout to my good friend Riley for always reading and enjoying my travel posts, typos and all haha. This one’s for you Ri 😉 When I left off last, I

A Stopover in York, England

A Stopover in York, England

Welcome back 🙂 Here is part two of my United Kingdom adventure! If you remember any of my little trip outline from the beginning of my Edinburgh post (it’s ok if you don’t) you’ll recall that we did a one night stopover in the charming town (city?) of York to break up the trip from Edinburgh to London. Here is what we did, what we saw and what we ate. Please enjoy!

My Edinburgh Adventure

My Edinburgh Adventure

Two weeks ago I landed back at Toronto Pearson International Airport after being on the other side of the Atlantic for twenty six days. When my sister made the decision to do a six month exchange in Scotland , I started to make my travel

Sushi “Burritos” with Kimchi

Sushi “Burritos” with Kimchi

Whenever I get together with my two good friends Riley and Camryn we always make sushi. See the thing is, as a group we are quite difficult to feed. Riley is a pescatarian, Camryn is allergic to dairy, but eats meat and I don’t eat meat and

Super-seeded Hemp Heart Granola

Super-seeded Hemp Heart Granola

Back in the summer I did a bit of housesitting for my aunt while she was away on holiday with her family. I was in charge of looking after the house and her two dogs: Charlie, a Rhodesian Ridgeback and Tucker, a Corgi. For the few weeks that I was there I had a pretty good routine going. My aunt lives on a golf course, so there are plenty of nice trails to walk on. Every morning after breakfast and every night after dinner Charlie, Tucker and I would set out for a nice long walk. We’d walk down to the end of the golf course and back twice each day, each walk being about four kilometres long. That ma seem like a really long walk, but it was so nice. I saw some beautiful sunrises and sunsets on that walk as well as some fantastic wildlife. I miss the warm weather and my long walks with the dogs. It’s kind of funny because I think I walked Jen’s dogs more in one summer than I’ve ever walked my own. I have no idea why that is, but it’s the truth. Roasted Beet and Barley Salad with Pesto

Roasted Beet and Barley Salad with Pesto

Happy Easter weekend friends! When holiday feasting time rolls around the vegetarian options can sometimes be a bit lacking (think Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter). Since I don’t eat turkey or ham and my family isn’t exactly too keen on testing out a nut roast recipe, although
