Sage Simple Syrup
1cupwater
1/2cupwhite sugar
10largefresh sage leaves
Sage Paloma
2ouncesfresh grapefruit juice
1/2ouncefresh lime juice
2ouncesblanco tequila
1ounceSage simple syrup(see recipe above)
Ice
Sparkling water, to top
Instructions
Make the Sage Simple Syrup
To a small saucepan, add the water and white sugar. Whisk over medium heat until warm and fully dissolved. Add the sage leaves and set aside to infuse for 20 minutes.
Strain the sage simple syrup into a jar through a fine mesh sieve. This recipe makes extra sage syrup, which can be stored in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to two weeks.
Prepare the Sage Paloma
Add the fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, blanco tequila, and sage simple syrup to a cocktail glass. Stir well, add the ice, then top with soda water. Serve and enjoy!
