Pick-Me-Up Green Smoothie

Pick-Me-Up Green Smoothie

During this time of the year I think we all could use a bit of a pick-me-up, right? I’m usually pretty tired when I get home from work, but the fact that it starts to get dark at around 4:30 is definitely not helping to prevent my afternoon energy levels from plummeting. Sometimes before I leave for work in the morning I like to whiz up a quick smoothie to store in the fridge for later. Pre-making smoothies works great for me because by the end of the day I’m too lazy to blend one up and typically end up reaching for an easier snack that isn’t as great.

I have a whole bunch of spinach in my fridge right now that needs to be used up, so the other day I threw a few of my favourite smoothie ingredients into my blend (spinach included) and ended up with this amazing smoothie. After taking a sip I quickly wrote down the ingredients and the rough amounts of each. The next time I made this smoothie I was sure to measure so that it would be just right, and of course so I would be able to share it with you too.

This is a great smoothie to have when you need a mid afternoon pick-me-up or if you’ve just worked out. Feel free to add in whatever extra ingredients fit your fancy. Also, a side note: I used Nuts to You Rainforest Nut Butter with Coconut. I love this nut butter and it adds great flavour to the smoothie, but any nut butter will work.
